Book Review : Sherlock Holmes - A Study in Scarlet

This was the very first time I delved into the world of Sherlock Holmes and I must say,I am impressed.I had known that he was a detective of some sort but now,I can be sure that he is not just any detective.He is a "consulting" detective.Read on...

The book is divided into 2 parts,each part comprising of 7 chapters.Part 1 started off really great.You immediately get hooked to the characters,namely,John H.Watson and Holmes himself and the dialogue and the writing is clever.Part 1 deals with how these two meet and how Watson admires Holmes and his brilliance.

And then there is Part 2.What the hell,Sir Doyle!?

The story shifts elsewhere and takes a completely different path and you have no clue as to why you are reading it.Or rather,what you are reading.But,I was patient enough to continue and trust me,in the end you will thank Doyle.

The writing is great,the pacing is great and the characters are extremely likeable.
