Game Review : The Walking Dead (Telltale,PC)
I have been a fan of TWD series (a review for another time, but definitely there is going to be one) and the comic books. And like most others,I was not convinced by the reviews at Gamespot or IGN(orant) since the game is a point and click adventure,a genre that does not interest me.But I went ahead (this game was GOTY,I definitely had to look into it!) and played the game and I thanked God.
You assume the role of Lee Everett,a murder convict who is on his way to the station along with a police officer when an accident occurs.Lee regains his consciousness only to find out that the world around him is now overrun by "walkers". He finds a house where a family lived before, but now,no ones around except a little girl,Clementine.Clem's parents are elsewhere and Lee takes up the fatherly role to protect the girl until she is safe with her parents.
That is the level of attachment you get with these characters. You feel like you are playing the game with the objective of protecting Clem,no matter what. And that is a huge achievement for a game! I still think Lee and Clem are one of the best videogame characters. So please do yourself a favor, play this game. You can thank me later.
And the ending, yup,I almost cried. I am sure you will too.
Score - 9/10
