Movie Review : The Amazing Spiderman 2

Firstly,let me tell you that this movie suffers from "Spiderman 3 syndrome".

What I mean by that is it tries to cram in too much within a small window.Like in SM3,there are many villains in TASM2,and there is so much going on that you forgot what the story is supposed to be.If you didn't like SM3 due to this reason,you won't,in all probability,care much for this movie.Others,continue reading...

This movie is what you expect to be in a Spider-man flick.There is a lot of web-slinging,punching,crawling,explosions,super-villains etc. The problem is,as I said before,there is too much of it.

Peter Parker has love issues,he is trying to find out about his parents,there is the "Oscorp is bad" storyline,there is Electro,a little of Green Goblin and some Rhino peppered in there.The performances were good,but not great.Moreover,unlike the first TASM flick,this one was more Raimi-ish,as in,a little cheesy.The first one was dark and realistic and I liked the fresh perspective on the character.This movie is a little light-hearted,emotional scenes were thrown in just for the sake of it and the villains were over the top.Goblin is doing all his Goblin-ish evil things,Rhino screams "Come on,Spider!" at every turn and the only like-able villain,atleast for me,was Electro. Unlike in the comics,he was more calm and composed but when he was pissed,all hell broke loose. He looked and behaved a little like Mr.Manhattan from 'The Watchmen'.

That is all I can really say about this movie.That is all I can think about the movie.If you had high expectations for this movie,it is highly likely that you would be disappointed.To put it in one word,it was okay.
