Super Bowl 2016 Teasers/Trailers
Okay, it has been a long time since I've updated the blog and I think now is the right time to do so. You see, our friends in the US of A got to see some sweet-ass TV spots and trailers during their "Super-Bowl". But for us, everyday is Super Bowl with Youtube.
Captain America: Civil War - Kick-ass spot for what is probably going to be a kick-ass movie. Here's a list of things that grabbed my attention in this - "United we stand" chant, Tony Starks new wristwatch, invincible Tony Stark, death of Rhodey, the pissing-off of Tony Stark, not-so-good looking green-screen effect, some sweet Superhero stare-down and yeah, Black Panther. That's it, that is the entire trailer. Should I even have to talk about this? We all know, we are going to watch it in theaters. However, I do have one gripe with not only this teaser, but this movie as a whole. From what I've seen, this should have been 'The Avengers: Civil War' and not 'Captain America: CW'. I feel it should have been a stand-alone Avengers movie. This is Captain's own movie, so why not focus on him for the entire movie and explore a bit more of his character? This movie could have instead hinted at the pro/anti registration agreement which could have been further developed into the CW in The Avengers 3.
TMNT Out of the Shadows - Now, I loved the first TMNT (I know CG fest, Michael Bay and all that stuff, but I did like it). From what I've seen from this SB spot, I think I am gonna love this even more. We were already given a glimpse of Bebop and Rocksteady in the first trailer, which was not too shabby IMO. But lo and behold, we get to see Krang for, like a second, which was a little bitter-sweet. And there is going to be a bigger action scene in the air, much like the mountain scene in the first (which was insane as all hell). I can see it coming, I tell ya. In the end, that went well ;)
Jason Bourne - Bourne is back, baby! MFs gonna F up some shit and look cool doing it. Buuuuttt, to be honest, I feel the movie is going to be the same old, same old. Atleast it looks like it. We also get a whiff of the iconic theme song 'Extreme Ways' by Moby. Tommy Lee is in it. Some intense action scenes, explosions and apparently, Bourne is trying to be one-punch man. Oh how I would love to see a cross-over!

X-Men: Apocalypse - Again, Xavier tries to be one-punch man (I know, last OPM reference, I swear!) but fails miserably as Apo sees it coming from a mile away and crushes X. A second of Sansa Stark (blushes), Psylocke slicing a car in half which looks fake even by 90s CGI standards, and a few seconds of action scenes with finally, Apo choking Mystique. The trailer felt more like Vexed Men: Mehpocalypse. But not gonna lie, probably gonna watch it in theatres.
Jungle Book - This trailer, I was most excited to see and I think the movie is going to be just like how I imagined, except for one little problem that I noticed right away - voice acting. I always wanted to see a live action Jungle Book where only Mowgli talks and the animals respond to him through facial reactions/growls and stuff. That would have been hard but it would have added more depth to the characters. We would have craved to hear what these animals think, much like how we do in real-life. But then again, this isn't real-life so my gripe can be over-looked, I guess. Anyway, this is one very good trailer. All voice actors are top-of-the-line, no doubt. And one little thing I was actually surprised to see - Gus Fring from Breaking Bad voices one of the animals, though I don't know which. Hopefully, one of the bad guys. Or a Chicken (see what I did there BB fans?). The kid actor looks the part, don't know how he will play the part. And we have a few Beast Brawls (YESSSS!!!). Again, one small flaw - Kaa's voice sounds a little too sweet and young. Wasn't it supposed to sound a bit matured and sinister? Well, moving on, we thankfully have a pretty good rendition of 'Bear necessities' and hopefully we will see it in the final film. The rest of the trailer is pure eye-candy and ear-candy, er...wait, that sounds disgusting. What I meant was "something nice to watch and hear". From the looks of it, it's going to be a good movie to say the least.
The list of movies being released this year is endless. Too bad, the same is not true when it comes to cha-ching in my wallet. Now is a good time to rob a bank :D
